2024/8/28 Japanese Ambassador Visits Cambodia to Inspect Mine Clearance Activities (ALIS)
According to the Facebook page of the Director of CMAC (Cambodia Mine Action Center), the Japanese Ambassador visited Cambodia to inspect the demining activities of the ALIS landmine detector. “On August 28, 2024, we received Ambassador Ueno, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, to inspect the minefield demining activities in Chamrong Lomeang Krom Village, Osamrir Commune, Samlot District, Battambang Province.”
2024/8/12 Cambodia CMAC (Cambodia Mine Action Center)
At CMAC headquarters in Phnom Penh, the latest technological advances combining ALIS with GPR scanning systems, image analysis, and subsurface data were discussed. since 2006, the ALIS demining machine’s scanning and image/data analysis is faster, more accurate, and ALIS is also being used by CMAC experts to train Ukrainian trainees in 2023.

Komeito Representative Yamaguchi reported on his visit to four countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) from July 8, 2024, in a YOUTUBE transmitted on 7/24/2024. He talked about the party’s longstanding efforts to support the removal of landmines in Cambodia and other countries, aiming for a “landmine-free world.
